Mathematics: Modeling Our World (MMOW) |
|
Mathematics: Modeling Our World (MMOW), a grades 9-12 curriculum. This curriculum encourages students to learn and use mathematical tools to explore a broad range of real-world themes. MMOW units are constructed from contemporary contexts, and are arranged by context and application rather than mathematical topic. The student-centered curriculum materials use a discovery approach and promote collaborative learning and integration with other content areas.
Each course of the MMOW curriculum offers additional resources to supplement the textbook:

- Annotated Teacher's Edition
- Teacher’s Resources in easy-to-use 3-ring binder which contains:
Teacher’s Guide
Handouts
Supplemental Activities
Assessment Problems
Transparencies
- Solutions Manual
- CD-Rom with calculator and computer software written specifically for MMOW
- Video with segments to accompany each unit

Modeling with Mathematics A Bridge to Algebra II
|
|
An innovative course that offers students an exciting new perspective on mathematics, Modeling With Mathematics explores how mathematics can help explore problems real people encounter in their jobs and lives. Mathematical modeling and a data-driven approach to exploring functions helps students deepen their mathematical skills and maturity. Modeling With Mathematics: A Bridge To Algebra II has been designed for students who have completed Algebra I or Algebra I and Geometry but need review practice and motivation to succeed in Algebra II. In addition the course gives students a look ahead to many Algebra II topics.

Mathematical Models with Applications |
|
An innovative course that offers students an exciting new perspective on mathematics, Mathematical Models with Applications explores the same types of problems that math professionals encounter daily. The modeling process--forming a theory, testing it, and revisiting it based on the results of the test--is critical for learning how to think mathematically. Demonstrating this ability can open up a wide range of educational and professional opportunities for students. Mathematical Models with Applications has been designed for students who have completed Algebra I or Geometry and see this as the final course in their high school mathematics sequence, or who would like additional math preparation before Algebra II.

Bridges to Classroom Mathematics
|
|
Prepare your elementary schools for implementing the NCTM Standards! COMAP has developed materials that local school personnel can use to conduct professional development workshops for elementary teachers. The materials address the mathematics and pedagogy underlying several innovative elementary school programs based on the NCTM Standards.
Bridges includes approximately 60 two-hour sessions that staff developers can combine flexibly to design workshops to meet local needs and resources. The materials consist of three groups of sessions, a handbook, and videotapes.
Each of the Bridges units includes a detailed Staff Developer’s Guide, masters for handouts and overhead transparencies, and materials lists. Some units include a video. Learn More
