Six Careers Where Mathematicians Make a Difference

Imagine 6000 mathematicians traveling from every corner of the country to meet at a single destination. For four days and nights, they give presentations, hold meetings, reunite with friends, and interview each other for jobs.This is the scene each January at the Joint Mathematics Meetings (JMM), the largest annual conference for mathematics professors, practitioners, and students.
