Using Math as a Microscope : Modeling Biology

Author: Kamila Larripa

Mathematics and biology have been intertwined for some time, but the synergy between the disciplines is on the rise. Mathematics can serve as a type of microscope, letting biologists peer into systems in a whole new way. Just as the microscope revolutionized science in the late 17th century, math can reveal otherwise unseen trends or patterns in data.
